New Forms of Tourism and their Impact on Cities

This thesis charts the increasing volume and changing nature of tourism in Europe. It was allowed by the liberalization of air travel market (the emergence of Low-Cost Carriers), and by the emergence of sharing economy (Airbnb). Followed by these changes a new segment of tourists, who were described as independent travelers, emerged. The thesis focuses on the interaction of those three factors and their effect on urban space - thus on its socio- geographic, socio-economic and socio-cultural fabric. Because of Low-Cost Carriers, tourists and travelers are concentrated in several European cities - those which were able to accommodate its environment for these airlines. In the cities, tourism spread from the concentric zones of the city center to the zones of the inner city, where a new tourist industry was adjusted for independent travelers. This touristification deepens the process of gentrification and spatial inequalities. Because of Airbnb, the limited hotel supply in the city center was surpassed, and the accommodation sector was integrated into residential fabric of the inner city. This study is biography of Jiří Viktor Daneš (1880 - 1928). First chapter summarizes fundamental stages of his life (studies, First World War, diplomatic activity in Australia), his death and legacy. Second chapter is approaching his travelling with emphasis on big travels - to Java and Australia with Karel Domin (1909 - 1910) and his journey around the world (1920 - 1923). Last chapter approaches his scientific work in basic outline.

Operations and services of Václav Havel Airpot: The Master´s thesis derals with operations and services of the largest and busiest airport in the Czech Republic, situated in its capital city. The main goals of the thesis are a detailed description of the services the airport offers to travellers and an evaluation of the airport´s operations with regards to its 2016 record season. The theoretical section of the thesis deals with the airport´s history, its premises and its range of operations and services. The analytical section aims to map which of tis services are most widely used with regards to travellerś gender and age.

Chinese culture and the Czech interwar art

Bachelor thesis Chinese culture and the Czech interwar art focuses on exhibitions of Chinese art in the Czechoslovak environment and their organisers in the period between the two world wars. The connection between Chinese art and Czechoslovakian collectors, travellers and artists of that period is the subject of this thesis. The author aims to identify how specific Czechoslovakian figures perceived, reflected and were affected by this non-European cultural influence.
